Our Projects
COVID RELIEF
At WINS, The COVID Action Relief is led by leaders of Sexworker, Transgender and HIV Women’s Groups in Guntur, Krishna, Nellore, and Chittoor and with the support of WINS team, National Network of sexworkers and well-wishers. The donations we receive have been of immense help to these marginalised communities.
HIV SUPPORT
At WINS, we believe right kind of sexual education plays a significant while offering various kinds of support services for HIV women and children. WINS in collaboration with other NGOs, government functionaries, activists initiated intensive efforts to mainstream HIV support through Public Health facilities.
HIV CARE
Care to the HIV positive individuals/women and children includes a range of services apart from the medical treatment service. At WINS, we firmly believe that along with extensive HIV testing, we believe that sensitised counselling of HIV patients and proper access to ART treatment is crucial in handling the HIV/AIDS.
HIV EMPOWER
One of the key objectives of WINS is to empower women living with HIV. We fecilitate capacity building, offer support to access funds while helping the HIV people integrate to mainstream society. WINS has been actively involved in HIV care and preventions for more than two decades now.
HIV CHILDREN
The central focus of programs designed for the well being of HIV positive children is to provide a loving and nurturing environment for children. The ultimate goal of the children’s welfare projects is envisaged as creating an environment for positive children to be accepted by the mainstream.
MAKAAM
MAKAAM, or Mahila Kisan Adhikaar Manch (Forum For Women Farmers' Rights) is a nationwide informal forum of more than 120 individuals and organisations of farming women, of women farmers' collectives, civil society organisations, researchers and activists, drawn from 24 states of India, to secure due recognition and rights of women farmers in India.
ABHAYA
Project Abhaya aims to build confidence of Women Human Rights Defenders (WHRDs) in the Kadapa and Chittoor districts of the Rayalaseema region, Andhra Pradesh state. The project ensures that the women's rights are protected and coalitions of Women Human Right Defenders (WHRDs) are created and strengthened.
ME AND MY WORLD
The project ‘Me and My World’ was implemented by WINS as a partner of the Sarvjana Coalition (a coalition of three NGOs working towards the empowerment of voluntary sexworkers). The capacity building program adapted various approaches like workshops, mentoring and one to one support.
LGBT INITIATIVE
The LGBT initiative at WINS works in collaboration with Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) and Community Based Organisations(CBOs) involving different stakeholders, policy makers and other support groups to create a positive and enabling environment for the betterment of Transgenders and sexual minorities in society.
CARE FOR CARERS
WINS' primary focus in 'Care for the Carers (CFC)' project is to ensure the creation of support systems (in the communities, and government) and build confidence to foster the families of carers whose grandchildren are infected, affected and orphaned by AIDS
