HIV CHILDREN
The central focus of programs designed for the wellbeing of HIV positive children is to provide a loving and nurturing environment. The ultimate goal of the children’s welfare projects is envisaged as creating an environment for HIV positive children to be accepted by the mainstream.
‘WINS’ realizes the need to educate young adolescents. We strongly feel that sexual health education through the formal education system is one of the best ways to control the spread of AIDS epidemic. Also, the school system in India has vast resources in terms of teachers which makes it easier to reach out to a larger number of young children.
WINS staff works with adolescent children to create goals and build skills that help live a life free of stigma and discrimination.
