CARE FOR THE CARERS
The burden on individuals caring for people with HIV/AIDS is expansive. As the virus matures, the carers are precious people providing qualitative care for the infected. However, the quality of care provided by the carers (Parenting for the second time, after the death of their own children) greatly depends on the protection of their own well-being and morale.
WINS’ primary focus in ‘Care for the Carers (CFC)’ project is to ensure the creation of support systems (in the communities, and government) and build confidence to foster the families of carers whose grandchildren are infected, affected and orphaned by AIDS.
The aim of the project ‘CFC’ is to commit to support the elderly caregivers. The projects reached out to hundreds of elders across 4 mandals in the drought prone districts of Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh.
